Hey, I started out as a Catholic - it wasn't my choice. I went to Catholic schools and taught in them for the better part of fifteen years. But studying history, especially of the Reformation, has really opened my mind up to what challenges there were to the Church and how those challenges were fair and just. The following activity and assignment is to help you understand about those issues surrounding Catholicism and the emergence of Lutheranism, as well as other beliefs.

What to do
First: Go to The Reformation/Witchcraft on Active History - barons and social (these will get you onto the site)
Second: Play the game,1. Decision Making Game: Are you a Lutheran, a Catholic or a Radical?
Third: Interview with a Catholic and a Protestant (both roles played by your teacher)
Fourth: In your groups create a two or three (whatever number works best for you) of propaganda poster using Comic Life (this program is on your computer).
The poster - using only images, few words - summarising the main beliefs of one of the three religious groups. The class will be divided into three groups (Lutherans, Catholics, Radicals) and then each member within each group could be given a different area to focus on - Bible, Eucharist, Priesthood and so on.
